EXP2 Comments

Alex Lorenzelli
Key strength: Axonometrics demonstrate spatial complexity and experimentation.
Most significant weakness: Architecture seems sterile and lacks connection with surrounding landscape.

Alisa Parveen
Key strength: Conceptual underpinning of architecture and its connection (interconnection) with landscape.
Most significant weakness: Textures have sunk in quality compared to earlier samples, in terms of experimentation. Refer to your EXP1 textures.

Ben Filler
Key strength: Great axos and textures.
Most significant weakness: Thinking behind architecture has room to improve. Concepts are there, but expression of them through architecture is a bit literal and elements are cluttered and confusion. Next experiment focus on bringing all the ideas together using a single encompassing concept.

Bridget Allen
Key strength: Clear intent and purpose behind architecture. Great textures.
Most significant weakness: Architecture lacking a sense of resolve and refinement. Perhaps the scheme could have capitalised on using detailed elements to articulate the massing model.

Christopher John Day
Key strength: Architecture demonstrates confidence and maturity, taking risk without being reckless.
Most significant weakness: Presentation of final scheme, images + textures + axos could be arranged to display thoughtfulness behind design and thinking.

Chun Ho Chiu
Key strength: The proportions of the architecture are appropriate in scale.
Most significant weakness: Drawings if improved could have moved this scheme up a grade. Architecture would benefit from further risk taking and experimentation.

James Crowe
Key strength: Consideration of architecture proportions, texturing and siting.
Most significant weakness: Scheme could benefit greatly if it were presented more holistically, whether this is in poster form or video clip.

Jiming Wang
Key strength: Work shows competency in architecture and drawing.
Most significant weakness: Scheme lacks detail in both architecture and landscape. In the next experiment please consider creating architecture that engages the landscape and that excites a viewer’s attention or experience

Kaung Myat Htoo Kyi
Key strength: Axonometrics were a great starting point for creating some engaging and interesting architecture
Most significant weakness: Ideas were not realised in architecture or landform.

Minshan May Huang
Key strength: Great drawings and animated gifs for presentation. Also placement of textures on architecture ties the fragmented surfaces together.
Most significant weakness: Lack of complexity in massing model and dialogue with landscape.

Mohamad Saj
Key strength: Arrangement and proportions of architecture is thoughtful and refined.
Most significant weakness: Improvement in drawings, precision and experimentation could have pushed this scheme up a grade.

Nastaran (Nina) Jafarigolrokh
Key strength: Ideas and concepts are refined and thoughtful.
Most significant weakness: Drawing could improve with more care and time taken. Architecture needs to push boundaries and express the ideas which you have so eloquently described in text.

Nikko Sudirman
Key strength: Alignment of architectural concepts with built form.
Most significant weakness: Landscape lacked development compared to the architecture.

Suek Yi Lim
Key strength: Architecture considered in detail circulation, connecting spaces and movement between levels.
Most significant weakness: Lack of understanding of axonometrics.

Weijie (Mike) Shen
Key strength: Beautiful how the architecture touches the water, then retreats into the mountains.
Most significant weakness: Presentation of images and architecture could have pushed this scheme up a grade.

Wen Chen
Key strength: Beautiful drawings and textures, precision in linework and rendering shows care and consideration.
Most significant weakness: Architecture is a bit too modest, it could benefit from some complexity whilst keeping its overall simplicity.

Yu-En (Timmy) Lin
Key strength: Detailed attention to landscape and its relationship to the architecture.
Most significant weakness: Neon lights a bit overboard, especially when drawing much inspiration from Falling Water. Aim to learn lessons from architects and their buildings. What is it about the precedent which engages your attention?
